Stages of Sleep Deprivation You Need to Know

What are the stages of sleep deprivation?. We know that there are four stages of sleep deprivation: Non-REM (NREM) sleep stages 1,2, 3 and REM sleep. The awake period occurs before and intermittently throughout various stages of sleep deprivation  or when a person shifts to sleep position.

Stage 1 is often determined by the presence of slow eye movements, this sleepy sleep stage can be easily disrupted which causes awakenings or arousal. The tone of the muscles in the whole body relaxes and brain wave activity begins to slow since waking up.
